🌹 WHY MASTERING YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE CAN BE YOUR SUPERPOWER 🌹

It’s that time of the month again—you know the bloating, the cramps, the general fatigue, and the crabbiness. 😩

For many women, getting their monthly cycle is synonymous with negative self-talk, doubt, and overthinking the worst case scenarios until you’re up for another sleepless night pondering the point of your existence.

If you're a busy mom, you know that there's never a moment to rest. From the moment your alarm goes off in the morning until you finally collapse into bed at night, it feels like you're constantly on the go. And if you have your menstrual cycle to contend with on top of everything else, it can feel even more overwhelming. 🥺

Managing your mindset can be challenging at the best of times. Add in raging hormones, and it’s no surprise if you notice a plummet in your mental health every time your period begins again.

But there is some good news: It is possible to sync your menstrual cycle with your parenting schedule. By understanding the phases of your menstrual cycle and how they affect your body and mind, you can make small tweaks to your lifestyle that can make a big difference in how you feel each month.

So being a life coach, you would think my whole life is mapped out and balanced. As though I’m a peaceful and put together person who doesn't rage quit, shout at my kids, or be a hormonal wreck? .. Erm no! 🙅

I am also human, female, and a mum!

With the right tools and techniques, I know how to get myself back on track and where to spend my energy.

I’ve spent thousands of pounds on counselling, therapy, coaching, parenting, breastfeeding, gym memberships, yoga classes, business training, and much more on an endless quest for self-improvement.

That's why I know the difference between a quick gimmick and what really works. Now I’ve vowed to help other mums just like you get what they want out of life and stop feeling like you’re at the bottom of the pile and last on the list. 🥰

Your monthly cycle is no exception! So many mothers see their emotions as a weakness, something that should be controlled, minimised, or ignored in favour of keeping everything together.

But the reality is you can work WITH your cycle and leverage it to your benefit.

This will help you feel more energised, balanced, and ready for every phase!

📔 Read on to discover how you can sync your menstrual cycle to improve your mental health as a mum.

🌷 HOW TO EASE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE MOOD SWINGS 🌷

The menstrual cycle is divided into four phases: the menstrual phase, the follicular phase, the ovulation phase, and the luteal phase.

Each phase has its own unique set of symptoms that can impact how you feel both physically and emotionally.

💠 PHASE ONE: THE MENSTRUAL PHASE

The menstrual phase is the first phase of the menstrual cycle. It begins on the first day of your period and lasts for about five to seven days.

During this phase, your body sheds the lining of the uterus, which can cause cramps, bloating, and fatigue. You may also find yourself feeling more emotionally sensitive during this time.

To help ease these symptoms, it's important to get plenty of rest and stay hydrated. You may also want to avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can make symptoms worse. Exercise can also help relieve cramps and improve your mood.

💠 PHASE TWO: THE FOLLICULAR PHASE

The follicular phase is the second phase of the menstrual cycle. It begins after your period ends and lasts for about two weeks.

During this phase, the ovaries produce follicles, which are fluid-filled sacs that each contain an egg. As the follicles mature, they release hormones that stimulate the growth of the uterine lining.

You may find yourself feeling more energetic during this phase as your hormone levels start to rise. However, you may also experience some milder PMS symptoms, such as bloating and breast tenderness.

To help ease these symptoms, it's important to get plenty of rest and eat a balanced diet. Exercise can also improve your mood and reduce bloating. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol can also help reduce symptoms.

💠 PHASE THREE: THE OVULATION PHASE

The ovulation phase is the third phase of the menstrual cycle. It occurs around day 14 of your cycle and lasts for about two days.

During this phase, one of the follicles releases an egg, which travels down the fallopian tube towards the uterus. At the same time, the uterine lining continues to thicken in preparation for pregnancy.

You may find yourself feeling more sexually aroused during this phase due to an increase in hormones. You may also have more energy and feel less bloated.

To help ease these symptoms, it's important to stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet. You may also want to exercise regularly to help improve your energy levels. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol can also help reduce symptoms.

💠 PHASE FOUR: THE LUTEAL PHASE

The luteal phase is the fourth and final phase of the menstrual cycle. It begins after ovulation and lasts for about two weeks.

During this phase, the egg that was released during ovulation begins to travel down the fallopian tube towards the uterus. If fertilisation occurs, the egg will implant itself in the uterine lining, and pregnancy will begin. If fertilisation does not occur, the egg will break down and be absorbed by the body.

The luteal phase is often associated with PMS symptoms, such as mood swings, irritability, and bloating. These symptoms are caused by the drop in hormone levels that occurs after ovulation.

🌹 MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR MONTHLY PERIOD 🌹

By understanding which symptoms you are likely to experience during each phase of your menstrual cycle, you can make small adjustments to your lifestyle that can help you feel your best. 😉

For example, if you know that you tend to feel fatigued during the menstrual phase, you can plan for extra rest and relaxation during that time. Or if you know that you tend to feel more irritable during the luteal phase, you can try to schedule some down time for yourself or make sure to avoid stressful situations.

💁 Making small changes like these can help you better manage your menstrual cycle and make it work for you instead of against you.

So if you're a busy mom trying to juggle everything, don't forget to consider your menstrual cycle as one of the things that you need to manage. With a little bit of planning, you can make it work for you instead of against you.
