Was it something you always wanted to do?
Was it something you always wanted to do?
Yesterday, I was talking to someone, and they were really excited for me and how "amazing" the website, branding and packages looked.
"Wow you are busy, but it sounds really good. It looks like it's working for you, and you're looking great and really happy😁.
Was it something you always wanted to do?"
Wow, that compliment really struck home that I truly am living my life the way that I want to!
Yes, there could be more or this or less of that, but some of these things are out of my control.
I love the fact I can help so many people and that truly lights me up.
To answer the question, was it something you always wanted to do?
No! And yes...
I never thought I would work for myself.
I like to have direction and guidance, but I had the epiphany moment that actually, that's what a guide or coach does, so I got a life coach and a business coach (the original coaches I chose didn't work out because they pressure sold me and did not have the same values as me nor did they think about valuable family time, which is important to me).
So for this, I always make sure anyone I work with (coach or client or employee), shares the same values or at least we can respect each other's values as this is truly key to success.
I didn't know I wanted to be a life coach, but I did know I wanted to help people because it fills me up and makes me feel good when I'm giving back and putting smiles on people's faces. It's always been my desire to make the world a better place and that starts with making the people understand their true potential.
When my sister-in-law died, I took care of her 2 little ones and spent a lot of time and money on training, learning about children, anxiety, grief and behavior.
I also knew I needed help as a parent (no one can prepare you for becoming a parent).
I lost my own Mum in my early 20s, before I became a Mum. I struggled to figure it all out without being able to ask her for help or guidance or even her own experience of being a Mum.
I spent a lot of money paying for different courses and classes that actually all had very similar content. Therefore, I did a lot of training on how to help parents for myself, and so I could help other parents that were going through the same struggles that I did, without it costing them as much money as what I had spent. (The breastfeeding support worker and parent training lead for the empowering parents and empowering communities project were a couple of my favorites).
My friends said I should be a psychologist because "you are so wise for your age and have been through so much in life!"
I studied Forensic Science, Physiology & Criminology at University, but my interests are not what can be dug up about the past but actually, what can be done about the future.
Over the years I have a lot of compliments, things like; I always help them have breakthrough moments.
I help them feel better
I help them see the best in life
I help them with keeping up positivity
I always see the best in people.
People that know me are astounded by the way I "can see each event from both perspectives" in terms of sticky situations or disagreements.
Hey, I'm not perfect!
I did get one or two complaints, one was that I was too friendly or over friendly, another one was that I have too much energy, and finally, I often get told that I will never be able to include and help everyone.
